Devious Maids, Client List, Mistresses The popularity of women as sexual objects on TV

The rise of TV shows like Devious maids, The Client List and Mistresses a sure sign that women are being relegated to the objects they once were and for some totally incomprehensible reason, women watch these shows? I am assuming they do otherwise why are these shows on the air for any reason?
Devious maids is about four Latina maids working for the rich and famous in   in Beverly Hills and perpetuates ll the stereotypes about Latin and other women. These maids are not of the "Help" variety as you can see from their revealing uniforms and oozing sexuality.

The Client List stars Jennifer Love Hewitt  as a prostitute under the guise of a massage therapist. Apparently being a prostitute is now a worthy goal that our girls should all strive to attain. Young teenage girls watching the client list are being exposed to different kinds of values and taught that there is nothing wrong with giving your male clients a little extra to make money. Both the client List and Devious maids are on Lifetime along with a collection of other shows that demean women. Perhaps Lifetime should change its name to Sleazetime.

And not to be out done we have the glorification of adultery in Mistresses, ABC's new slut show. Just what we need on prime time TV: the glorification of  slut, casual sex, illicit affairs; prostitution, cheating on your spouse and sexually transmitted diseases. I think it is time to ditch the cable and sign up for Netflix

It would seem that ABC is not quite willing to give up on DWTS just yet despite its miserable ratings and steady decline over the last few years. The powers that be at ABC somehow felt that they could revive the show by bringing back winners and fan favorites from previous seasons. However, bringing back now trained ballroom dancers in a competition kind of defeated the purpose of the “dancing with the stars" premise

We would rather see clumsy, overweight stars strut their stuff and become slimmer, better or worse, for their efforts. So it is that DWTS producerrs are hoping that this new season will help them regain some fans. Here is the DWTS cast line up  for 2013

It appears as though Alec Baldwin is taking the same route as another outlandish,  once famous actor known as Mel Gibson. We already know about the disturbance Alec Baldwin  created on an airline when asked to turn off his electronic equipment. As far as Alec Baldwin  is concerned, he was  right and the airline staff was wrong. When Paparazzi staked out his residence, the 30 Rock actor let loose a string of racist slurs against an African American ex NYPD officer who as the photographer, calling him, among other choice words, “coon” crackhead” and telling him where to "kiss".

To add insult to injury Alec Baldwin has filed a complaint against the black reporter claiming he was assaulted - the reporter says he was the one who was assaulted. Now, tell me, who do you believe? Just prior to this incident, Alec Baldwin reportedly grabbed  a female New York  Post reporter and threatened to choke her. and we all remember the nasty names he called his own young daughter several years ago.

Of course, Alec is denying racist comments but twitter doesn’t lie. Alec was smart enough to place more racial insults against the Black photographer on his Twitter account by saying that he could not be a an ex NYPD because he is and "ex jailhouse crackhead". was he suggesting that  all blacks  become ex jailhouse crackheads? On the other hand, Alex thanked the “Non-Ex Jailjouse/crackheads" who came to his home to take his statement. Want to guess what color their skins were?

The maligned reporter  was there to ask Alex Baldwin  about a lawsuit against his wife Hilaria Thomas, a yoga teacher who is being sued by a student.

Prince Michael, the teen son of the late Michael Jackson has been hired as an Entertainment Tonight correspondent. At just 16 years of age the Prince who was often shrouded as a child by his father the late Michael Jackson, to protect him from the glare of the media spotlight, will now be in the spotlight interviewing celebrities.  Prince Michael’s first gig will be to interview Actors Zach Braff and James Franco in the soon to be released movie “OZ: The Great and Powerful”

Interviewing actors on an OZ movie is somewhat familiar territory for the Prince Michael since his dad the late Michael Jackson starred in the 1978 film, The Wiz alongside Diana Ross. ET regular Brooke Anderson served as Prince Michael’s mentor for the interviews that were taped this weekend. In a promotional video for the Prince Michael’s interviews, it is indeed an eye opener to see how mature and wise the young Michael Jackson appears. Prince Michael credits his father’s parenting for his upbringing.

I guess Michael did more than a few things right and I am sure he would be proud of Prince Michael - Entertainment Tonight correspondent.

She Wore Python - Beyonce's Controversial Reptile Clothing

She has faced sharp criticism for her lip singing episode at the p inauguration, now PETA is none too happy with the pop star. Why? Well she wore a costume made from python and iguana skin for her super bowl performance. Forget PETA. I just want to know how it feels to wear the skin of slimy, creepy crawly reptiles. And do entertainers need to be aware that the python is fast becoming endangered species due to the millions of dollars worth of Python skin exported to supply the fashion craze for reptile gear?

I didn’t think much of Beyoncé’s lip sing episode. I did think it was dishonest but if the President of the United states is OK with it then who am I to judge. Wearing reptile skin, however, is another matter. It means that our beloved Beyoncé is somewhat ignorant of the cruel punishment endured by pythons and other reptiles to support the fashion industry.

Beyoncé’s super bowl outfit came at the expense of pythons killed by inflating them like a balloon or filling them with water until they burst. Way to go Beyoncé!

Alicia Keyes to Ditch iphone for Blackberry?

Recently announced as Blackberry’s new International Creative Director, Alicia Keys was tweeting from her iPhone just a week earlier. Now I am sure Alicia was aware more than a week ago that she would be landing this prestigious assignment with the ailing Smartphone provider, Blackberry. However, it would seem that she is not quite ready to dispense with her beloved iPhone and replace it with the “lowly” Blackberry she will be representing.

According to Blackberry CEO Thorsten Heins, the US 14 time Grammy Award winner is a believer in the Blackberry product and technology. Thorstein added that:

“We are excited she will be bringing to us her enormous capabilities, as well as a vast network of relationships in the entertainment, social media and business communities, to help shape our brand and grow our business."

For her part Keys goal is to bridge the gap between the work and the play phone. In other words, it would appear that the title of Creative Director entails making the Blackberry more enticing to the younger, hipper and entertainment crowd. She also claims that her goal is to inspire creativity. We can assume then that her mere presence in the company of content creators, app developers and designers will inspire creativity.

Most likely  we will be seeing a lot of Alicia Keys in Blackberry promotions and advertisements. As the creative director, she will also be able to lend her voice and talents to inspire Blackberry to bridge that work-play gap.

What are Alicia’s qualifications to be artistic director for Blackberry? In addition to garnering 14 Grammys for her music she attended the Professional Performing Arts School at the tender age of 12 and graduated 4 years later as the school’s valedictorian.

 Keys is Co-founder and Global Ambassador of Keep a Child Alive providing medicine to families with aids. And yes, she is also beautiful.
