Another big celebrity has tested positive for COVID 19. You know him from the popular Game of Thrones Show,Kristofer Hivju where he played the role of Tormund Giantsbane. The 41 year old actor made the announcement on Monday via Instgram. He said he was in good health even though experience mild cold symptoms but will be self isolating for as long as it takes at his home in Norway. He urged everyone to exercise caution and to do everything they can to stop the spread of the virus.

It's all over the internet and the video has gone viral. An accomplished political reporter was caught on camera with a long nose drip while reporting. It doesn't appear as if she felt it or made any attempt to stop it and the question is why? The reporter is Hallie Jackson an NBC and the mishap occurred during a live broadcast from Tennessee. 

The introduction of HD TV must have been the biggest fear of  TV personalities and celebrities. Many of these celebrities and anchors must have made an enormous investment in BOTOX . We all know what effect botox has on your face. While it removes the lines your face is in a state of rigor mortis. My take on the nose drip that goes unchecked is that it may be to blame on BOTOX. You can't stop what you can't feel. Just a thought.

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend choose baby's sex; the wonders of technology. I recall not even being told the sex of my first and second child after an ultra sound because they didn't want to unintentionally mislead the expectant parents just in case they were wrong. However, we have gone far beyond that - choosing the sex of a baby. Chrissy Teigen is defending her and her husband John Legend's choice of a girl but there is something troubling about anyone's ability to do so.

When China instituted it's One Child Policy, female babies were routinely aborted in preference of boys, reportedly. At lease in Chrissy and John's case the girl wins at the expense of the boy. I imagine pouring over a bunch of fertilized eggs and deciding which to pick. Of course I am not sure how it is done but I wonder what happens to the discards?

It is of course Chrissy Teigan and John Legend's decision to make and they will be able to say to their daughter that she was chosen long before she was viable. This is also possible with the advances in technology but I can't help feeling uneasy about what next?  Can you determine ahead of time if the child will be smart or beautiful? Maybe we can already do that. Best wishes to the expectant couple.

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck break-up - The babysitter didn't do it.

Jennifer Garner has finally put to rest rumors that their young and gorgeous babysitter caused their break up.  In so doing, however, she has confirmed it would appear, that Ben Affleck did have an affair with the babysitter even though not while they were together. Soon after their separation was announced there were rumors linking Ben Affleck to Christine Ouzounian, the nanny. While Ben’s people denied the rumors, Garner has just revealed that  Ben's affair with the nanny was not the cause of their break up. 

So the nanny did not cause the break up but Jennifer Garner seemed to give credibility to the rumored affair by telling Vanity Fair that it was bad judgement and not great that the nanny disappeared from the kids life. Anyone reading this would assume that there was indeed an affair, it just didn't cause the breakup but it did rob the kids of their nanny. Then again, how does anyone know when the affair started? As the saying goes, "the wife is always the last to know" The question that always boggles my mind is why would any clear thinking woman hire a young beautiful babysitter?

Did Kesha lie about being assaulted by Dr. Luke?

Did Kesha lie about being assaulted by Dr. Luke? According to a report by TMZ, they have uncovered a video where in a deposition made in 2011, Kesha flatly denied that she was a sexually assaulted by Dr Luke. However, fast forward to 2016 and she is accusing Dr Ken of drugging and raping her. It is possible that Kesha was afraid to admit to this at the time, after all whe was in the prime of her career and if the incidents did occur, they didn't seem to bother her then.

The question I have is why not make a formal police report of sexual assault by Dr Ken? Afterll Bill Cosby is before the courts right now for alleged assault that occurred a decade ago. I don't know the answer. Maybe she was raped and drugged maybe she wasn't. The only way to get to the bottom of these allegations is in a court of law dealing with te specific issue and not as a side isse to getting out of a contract.

Ever since Ben Affleck thanked his wife Jennifer Garner at the Oscars for "working on their marriage", we knew that all was not well with  the seemingly happy couple. After all, you work on a marriage to keep it together and it was clear in the days to follow that Jennifer was not happy with Ben's loose lips. The couple are parents to three children ages 9, 6 and 3. Apparently the couple has been living apart for several months. The paparazzi has to do a  better job of informing us about these celebrity happenings.

Rosie O'donnell on the run again

Rosie O'donnell is on the run again - from the View. Many of us knew it, felt it, said it. It as a bad decision to rehire Rosie O'donnell for the View and was bound to end in disaster. The View has been driven to desperation lately with the Talk on their heels and somehow felt that by brining back Rosie who had left the show, under dubious circumstances, would have brought some needed life-giving infusion to the show. Rosie said a low key goodbye to The View again, yesterday. Her reason for leaving this time is to focus on her 5 children after the break up of her second marriage, this one to Michelle Rounds.

 Rosie O'donnell was hired in September 2014 however, the show has experienced a ratings slide from last season. The hoped for spike in ratings with a new panel did not happen. We do know that there were instances of Rosie and Whoopi locking horns on several issues resulting in what I would describe as a shouting matches this time around. And if you believe the media reports, Whoopi and Rosie were fighting over anything seating arrangements even before the show aired.

Rosie's staying power on previous assignments should have provided The View's hierarchy with clues. She quit her magazine Rosie which was launched in 2000 less than 2 years later due to a dispute over editorial control. She was first hired as moderator of The View in 2006 creating some famous controversies resulting in her contract being mutually cancelled the following year . The show did see a ratings jump in 2007 but this could be due to timing in a heated pre-election period. Her Rosie talk show on Own had its debut in 2011 but was cancelled in 2012 for low ratings.

Things to consider before hiring or re-hiring a talk show host. Does he or she play nice in the sandbox? Are they popular with the viewing audience? Rosie was named the most Annoying Celebrity of 2007 by PARADE reader's poll. How are their interpersonal skills? How successful have they been in similar venues?

Why is Harry Belafonte Disappointed with Beyonce?

Harry Belafonte of the Banana Boat song fame is not happy with Beyonce and JayZ. In an interview at the Lacarno Film Festival  he had some harsh criticisms for African American celebrities who shy away from social activism using Beyonce and JayZ as examples.  I have no knowledge of  the couple`s involvement or non-involvement but I am quite sure there are many more celebrity types who may be guilty as charged.

The controversial statement is not without merit since there is not a lot of evidence that African American celebrities are out there fighting for social justice. But perhaps there is a good reason, while not a credible justification, that these celebrities do not readily use their wealth and popularity to influence social change. Such advocacy can often come with a black lash and the fear that Hollywood may drop you like a hot potato for perceived radical views.

African American celibrities may fear losing their hard won fame and fortune if they do not follow the straight and narrow path.  But shouldn’t celebrities be obligated to lend a voice or hand to further social justice issues? Some do and maybe more than we know about but if we don’t know about it then maybe there isn’t much of an impact. As Harry Belafonte pointed out in the interview, ``Give me Bruce Springsteen, and now you’re talking. I really think he is black."
